Quran Circle ("the App", "we", "us") helps users read the Quran individually and complete group Khatm (full readings) together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: the email address and password you use to sign in. Your display name (shown to other members of a group you join) is generated automatically from your email address — you don't type it in yourself.
- Reading progress: Surah/Juz position and completion status you generate while using the App. Solo reading progress and favorites are also cached on your device.
- Group data: group names, invite codes, membership, and unit-reading progress shared with the other members of any group you join or create.
- Advertising and purchase data: handled by our third-party providers — see Third-Party Services below.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core features: tracking individual and group Quran reading progress.
- To sync your data across your devices.
- To show group members' shared progress within a group you've joined.
- To show ads that help keep the App free, and to process the optional "Remove Ads" purchase.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which processes some data on our behalf:
Supabase — our backend and database provider. Stores your account, reading progress, and group data behind row-level security, so only you and, where applicable, members of your reading group can access relevant shared data.
Google AdMob — shows ads within the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID) and general usage data to select and measure ads. You can reset or limit ad tracking in your device's system settings.
RevenueCat — processes the optional one-time "Remove Ads" purchase. It receives purchase and subscription-status data from Google Play / the App Store to verify your purchase and keep ads removed across your devices.
We do not sell your personal data to any of these providers or to anyone else.
4. Data Storage
Your account, reading, and group data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security enforced at the database level. Local, on-device data (such as cached favorites) never leaves your device unless you explicitly sync it through App features described above.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Limited data (such as your display name and reading progress) is visible to other members of a group you voluntarily join, as part of the App's core group-tracking functionality. See Third-Party Services above for the providers that process data on our behalf.
6. Your Choices
- You can leave the App at any time by simply not using it — your data stays only as long as your account exists.
- You can request full deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see below).
- You can limit ad personalization through your device's system-level ad settings.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
